Why are so many companies complete and utter retards?!
Taking the agency ASCAP for example. They want royalties from AT&T for the music ringtons they sell on their websites.1 But wait a minute, if royalties have already been paid on music, why should providers have to pay again to distribute it? Its like to stream music, why should agencies rob small independant stations of the little money they have just because they can. It really pisses me off how people have to pay several times just to stream songs, and then you’re limited to what you can stream.
Another thing that really pisses me off, is UK-Based broadband providers. They throttle your connection during peak times, they throttle your connection when you download x amounts of data. They say its to provide a better service for the rest of the population. You know what I say, fuck the rest of the population, and the ISP’s should provide a better service, with more redundant systems. BT are the worst for this. They throttle BBC iPlayer and YouTube based on how much you use the site, and what time of day you use it. Often, they limit your connection to those services, and have been known to stop transfer all-together. BT are asking BBC to provice them with more equipment to provide a better service, so BT Customers can experience better connection to iPlayer, yet its BT’s problem for using archeological equipment.
Then just to top it all off.. our own government has added a 50p telecoms tax to assist BT with replacing their ancient equipment.
